The NHL in the 2000s had more teams and more talent than any previous decade in NHL history. The one thing it didn’t have was dominant teams. For the first time since the NHL took control of the Stanley Cup in the 1920s, the 2000s saw no repeat champions. Wings' foursome pegged for Sweden →
Sweden has picked four Red Wings to help try to defend its Olympic gold. On Sunday, Sweden coach Bengt-Ake Gustafsson announced the roster, which includes Nicklas Lidstrom, Henrik Zetterberg, Tomas Holmstrom and Niklas Kronwall — that will compete in Vancouver in February.
